So you’ve found your way here, and by now you either already know who I am, or you’re totally lost on the information superhighway (is that term still in use?). That means that by all rights, I should just leave this page blank because you already know as much as you need to about me. But it’s also possible that you’d like to know a little more… get a glimpse of the life lived behind the curtain. OK, for that, you should simply friend me on Facebook. The truth of the matter is that this is the part of the internet where I get to tell you all about myself, my accomplishments, and share some thoughts with you when the inspiration strikes. You should therefore consider everything you read here heavily biased!

So, now that we have that out of the way, what is it that I want you to know about me? Starting with the boring stuff, I was born in the college town of Pullman Washington, and I was incredibly fortunate to have grown up there as well. The reasons this makes me fortunate are that the town has virtually no crime, a great public school system, and outside of education, virtually nothing else to do. This led to a very boring childhood, or more accurately, a childhood where books and games became my most treasured forms of entertainment. That very likely contributed to my chronic writing habit that I now refer to as My career.

So that brings us to the real point of all this, the part you’re most likely interested in (assuming that you’ve read all this way despite simply being lost in the intertubes). I’m a professional writer and game designer. Since 2001, I’ve contributed to numerous tabletop roleplaying game books, mostly for the Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition game, but also for D20, Pathfinder, and Savage Worlds. I’m currently employed as a Narrative Designer for an MMO, and I write fiction! I’m also a member of the Werecabbages freelance guild, and the founder of the Monumental Works Group, which is an association of talented fiction writers who I happen to be friends with.

So that’s about as much as you need to know about me for now, though I will be blogging to this site.

And now the big bold warning sign: My blogs will stray into the realm of the political from time to time, and I’m unashamedly left-leaning on most issues. If you don’t like the point of view of people who think that we should live in a compassionate society that’s accepting of lifestyles that may seem somewhat unusual to the majority of society, odds are that you won’t like many of the things I have to say. I’m fine with that. I’m also fine with moderating comments left. This means that If you feel the need to disagree with me, and you’re not respectful in the way you do so, your words might get eaten. This is my soapbox, after all.

I’ll also be blogging about writing! So come on in, take a look around, and feel free to check things out.

Donate: Now I’ve never been one to go out in the streets with my hat in my hands begging for change, however, it turns out that some people like to give their favorite artists money. I admit that I’m not getting rich off of this, but to quote the late Robert Jordan, “I’ll keep on writing until they nail down my coffin.” In other words, I don’t want to make a big deal out of this, and I don’t want to make you feel obligated to give me a penny more than the price of my products, but if you are so inclined to share some of your wealth and help me keep my website up, or help purchase my next piece of cover art or editing, I certainly won’t complain, and you can use the link below to do so.
