I usually save my religious posting for Facebook… for people who are interested in knowing who I am rather than what I produce. Truth be told, I’m not just a writer, a fantasy and post-apocalyptic enthusiast, but I’m also an atheist. I know that this disagrees with the most fundamentally held beliefs of about 90% of you, and I’m okay with that.
At any rate, rather than proselytize, I’m just going to post a link to a video that I think is both beautiful, and comes close to describing the same realizations that I’ve had on the subject.
Just to be clear, my goal isn’t to change any minds, or poke fun at people who put faith in the mainstream religions. I know many people, who I respect, who have strong belief in god. I don’t want to start an argument with them or disrespect their beliefs. When I talk about being an atheist, or being non-religious, there are very few sources of information or inspiration that summarize my conclusions better than this video. This reflects my point of view perfectly, and states, in a very matter-of-fact and meaningful way, why religion doesn’t work for me, and how it is enough to simply be a part of the universe.
